Community Development

Sustainable development is both a journey - a process of continuous improvement towards the end point where human kind has learned to live sustainably on this planet - and a framework within which a balance can be achieved between the wealthy and the poor (both in this country and between rich and poor nations) and between the interests of this generation and future generations.

Life Project Charities sustainable community development initiatives provide a framework for redefining progress and redirecting our economies to enable all people to meet their basic needs and improve their quality of life. All the while ensuring that the natural systems, resources and diversity upon which we depend are maintained and enhanced for our benefit and for that of future generations.

Sustainable development is about ensuring well-being and a better quality of life for everyone now and for generations to come by:

· fully integrating and giving equal weight to the economic, social and environmental dimensions of development, and

· considering the long-term implications of our decisions, and taking steps to counteract or negate harmful environmental effects.
